Training & support provided: We look for health students with the right values and maturity, then provide structured onboarding, autism/ADHD training and shadow shifts so you’re prepared before supporting teens on your own.
Work close to home: Most teens live in Hughesdale, Oakleigh, Carnegie, Malvern East, Murrumbeena, Chadstone, Caulfield and Bentleigh, so your shifts are local.
Support from a small, local team: You’re not just a number in a big agency. We know our workers and families by name and stay in touch so you’re never left on your own with a problem.

Brighter Days is a local NDIS provider supporting autistic and neurodivergent teens and their families in Melbourne’s inner south‑east. We’re looking for warm, reliable students in psychology, OT, nursing, social work, physio and other health‑related degrees who want real experience working with teens in the community.
Who This Role Suits
You’re studying psychology, OT, nursing, social work, physio, speech, allied health or a related degree.
You live in or near Hughesdale, Oakleigh, Carnegie, Malvern East, Murrumbeena, Chadstone, Caulfield or Bentleigh
You’re in your mid‑20s or older and comfortable taking responsibility for autistic and neurodivergent teens
You have your own reliable car and a valid driver’s licence, and are happy to drive teens to local activities
You’re looking for flexible, regular casual work that fits around classes and placements
What You’ll Be Doing:
Community access & activities
Support teens to get out of the house, try activities they enjoy, practice social skills and build confidence in the community.Daily routines & life skills
Help with everyday tasks like simple meal prep, basic house tasks and following after‑school routines, so teens slowly build independence.Homework & school routines
Sit alongside teens while they do schoolwork, help them stay organised and break tasks into manageable steps (you are not expected to be a formal tutor).Emotional support & companionship
Be a consistent, calm adult who listens, encourages and helps teens manage tricky moments so home life feels a little easier for them and their parents.

What You’ll Need Before Working Independently:
To keep teens safe and meet NDIS requirements, all Brighter Days support workers must have:
A current Working With Children Check
A recent police check
NDIS worker screening/clearance (or be eligible to obtain it)
Current First Aid & CPR certificate
Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
A reliable car you can use for work and a valid driver’s licence
Location:
We support autistic and neurodivergent teens in Melbourne’s inner south‑east, mainly in:
Hughesdale, Oakleigh, Carnegie, Malvern East, Murrumbeena, Chadstone, Caulfield and Bentleigh.
We prioritise workers who live in or near these suburbs so travel is simple and support feels local.
Joining the team:
We keep our casual pool small enough to know everyone by name, so we only bring on new workers when we have the right teens and families for them.
